Barbara is a Lumby based visual artist whose creative journey began in fashion design before evolving into the exploration of visual arts. Her vibrant, expressive paintings are known for their bold colour palettes, intuitive brushwork, and emotionally resonant imagery. Often featuring
figures, portraits, and animals, her work blends realism with abstraction in a style she describes as “expressive realism.”

Barbara paints instinctively, allowing each piece to unfold through a spontaneous process that values emotion and energy over strict representation. Her art invites viewers to engage with the deeper stories behind her subjects—capturing not just physical likeness, but spirit and
movement. Through her art, she channels the powerful connection between artist, subject, and viewer.

Lately, she has been exploring Canadian Wildlife with the desire for a more raw, disrupted style, reflecting the state of our natural world.
