First Friday Okanagan
Artist Studio Tours
Who We are
The First Friday Art Trail is a free event that takes place on the first Friday of every month. Explore your neighbourhood, meet the artist and learn about their work and enjoy time out with your friends. By opening our studios, we invite our neighbours to participate in a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and connection.
Map
This is the map for all the participants for the next First Friday event. It is a fully interactive map that will allow you to plan your personal route with all the studios you want to visit. You can zoom in and out, click (or tap) on the location to get the full address and an example of the artist’s work.
The First Friday Art Trail not only offers a platform for showcasing artistic talent but also serves as a catalyst for neighbourhood engagement. By opening our studios and creative spaces to the community, we invite residents to participate in a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and connection. This monthly event encourages interaction, fosters a sense of belonging, and promotes mental well-being by providing opportunities for joyful exploration and meaningful engagement. Through the First Friday Art Trail, we aim to break down barriers, spark conversations, and cultivate a sense of playfulness and joy that enriches the fabric of our neighbourhood.
We seek to actively involve members of the local community in the event. It is aimed at fostering connections, promoting interaction, and encouraging participation among residents. In the context of the First Friday Art Trail, neighbourhood engagement is essential for creating a vibrant and inclusive artistic experience that resonates with the community. Through outreach efforts, collaborative projects, and interactive programming, the event seeks to build stronger ties between artists, art organizations, and the neighbourhoods they serve. By fostering a sense of belonging and collective ownership, neighbourhood engagement ensures that the First Friday Art Trail becomes not just an event, but a cherished tradition that brings people together and enriches the fabric of our community.
Through collaborative promotion and grassroots advocacy, the goal is to establish First Friday as a staple of the city’s cultural calendar, drawing residents and visitors alike to experience the richness and vitality of Greater Vernon’s artistic landscape. We will celebrate creativity, forge new connections, and nurture a supportive community where everyone feels valued and connected.
